Hello, Lee. This turned out to involve not just the VM that hosts ACT but the physical server that hosts the VM. Sadly, this meant that the VM hosting mailman went down as well which means we didn't get your message until the issue was resolved. The physical server rebooted, complained about a SMART error and waited until someone was actually able to press F1 and let the boot continue. ACT is back up and running. > On this - is there any way I can help out with this? SRE stuff and/or > access to be able to give apache a kick? Laurent Boivin and I are using the fact that we're both at PTS 2024 to brainstorm both what can be done to prevent this from happenning and what can be done to resolve it faster should it happen anyway. I will keep the list posted. From leejo.65535 at gmail.com Thu Apr 25 12:49:49 2024 From: leejo.65535 at gmail.com (Lee J) Date: Thu, 25 Apr 2024 12:49:49 +0200 Subject: [Act] ACT down? (Take Two...) Message-ID: Hi ACT devs, (Sending this again as the previous may have been rejected due to the inline image.) I guess this is a FYI (likely you're already aware of this) - we've had a couple of users reporting problems registering for LPW https://act.yapc.eu/lpw2024 due to failure in email delivery. It's possible that ACT has fallen victim to being reported as spam / bad quality emails in the eyes of Google and others (the problematic emails are to @ gmail dot com addresses and likely others). On digging it appears there are a number of red flags from the domain - no dmarc or dkim, the included URL is http:// and there are SOA errors in the domain record, etc Not sure what needs doing here... And the sooner the better (but after the PTS). Can you give my email to the user that wants to register? I'll force this regsitration and either use the password they want me too, or generate and send directly to them.
