You get the page "An email was sent to... ", but the email never comes. It was first discovered on http://act.perlconference.org/tpc-2017-amsterdam/register (which seems to be the only production site with a conference date in the future so that this can be tested), but the same is true for the following test sites: http://test.mongueurs.net/tpc-2017-amsterdam/register http://test.mongueurs.net/spw2017/register http://test.mongueurs.net/gpw2017/register (Some other test sites just say: "You don't have permission to access /qa2017/register on this server." etc., but that seems unrelated). Indeed, I hadn't realized that Act couldn't send mails. Sorry. Found two problems: - postfix was misconfigured; fixing that made it send me a few thousands of queued mails - Act had a workaround something Email::Simple didn't do when it was originally written, and I guess does now; quickly commenting that part of the code seems to fix the problem I received confirmation mails from both test & prod sites. When I sent my previous mail, I had actually received the confirmation mail on my gmail account. I can't on two other mail providers because of external reasons (one is because it's the one that received the daily hundreds of errors, the other because it considers the confirmation mail as spam). Laurent just tested, and the problem occurs with his address. I saw see a strange error in the logs: sendmail: environment corrupt; missing value for s sendmail: fatal: setenv MAIL_LOGTAG postfix: Bad address I tried to add some debug, and upon restarting Apache, the problem no longer occurs with Laurent's address. Still the same for me as before. It works from the test site, but not when I try it from the production site. I tried with two email addresses, one at @xs4all.nl and one at @gmail.com. Maybe postfix hangs itself up after the first attempt...? Did my attempts produce debug messages? (around 23:15 CET). I don't understand why Email::Send::Sendmail mysteriously fails in some cases and not in others. I've quickly changed the production code to use Email::Send::SMTP instead.
